It is impressive where AI and new tech is taking the robotics industry in China. In my opinion, we do not need them to look like humans. These still fall straight into the uncanny valley and evoke feelings of distrust.
People will humanize a trash can on wheels like R2D2 before they feel comfortable with these things which is quite creepy with certain facial expressions! Should be focusing more on utility than aesthetics really.
